I’m not dead!

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

My ISP thought it’d be nice to cut us off with the only notification being sent to an email address used by our last ISP 4 years ago which had been both inactive and deleted for at least 3. It’ll be the 1st Feb before I’ll be back online thanks to our new, and already better ISP with BT. For some reason they’re giving us a 2nd phone line, free calls and a 3x as fast connection so I’ll be back with a vengance.
In the meanwhile I can’t access my games since they’re all on Steam and I hadn’t enabled the offline mode. I’ve also just fixed my mouse with it’s odd insta-double click fault whilst somehow getting the teflon glide pads running smoother too. Only doing so managed to wedge one of them thick pads under my nail which friggin hurt!

The best bit is Tormishire. I’ve been working stupidly fast since 1) we have no internet and 2) nothing is on TV. In just 2 days I’ve managed to replace 85% of the graphics, build a final menu (which looks pretty beautiful if I don’t mind saying! It just shows new pictures of Silence, Tsol, Astrada, one of the dragon statues and Saxen). Tidied up the engine and found another resource leaky bit. Optimised it for HWA as well.

Trailer 4 and Beta 4 will certainly be out very shortly. All I need to do is work on the 3rd boss and tie up some loose ends, might even be completed by the time I get back online.

Also got Final Fantasy VII working on my PSP again! Now 11 hours in and I’m seeing why people equate this to Ocarina of Time. It’s ageless and brilliant, and oddly enough with all the options the player is given it’s a little like Tormi. Only the options have less of an impact on the story than in Tormi.

Currently stealing my cousins wifi (don’t worry I wrote this out before I set off ^_^) since I’m making him a site for his shop. Tom’s got his first car. Grown to like Sonic & Knuckles but still hate the first zones design and music. Been watching too much Spaced (Collectors edition for £13 – YOU BUY. No really it’s genius).

See you all Friday!

A bit of art I forgot to post!

A while ago, waaaay back in the lovely hot summer days of 2007, Caroline drew a little fanart pic of her Scribbling Ninja character and little Sam in perfect harmony. Just thought I’d finally post it!

Lovely stuff

This will sound the same as the previous update because I’m still updating the graphics and tweaking the engine. Though I did find a big system resource draining bit on my physics engine which after 3-4 minutes of play on 1 frame would slowdown to 66% of the original speed – which was odd! But it’s sorted and everyone is happy.

Beta 4 and Trailer 4 should be out soon. I’d like to say in the next week or 2 but we know how that can change.

Also got myself a media lecturer interview at my local college coming up on Monday – I’d really love a job like that. It’s a lovely little (big) college set in a great area. A strange place where it takes an hour and 15 minutes to get there by bus or just an hour by walking.

And the PSP Slim is a fantastic piece of kit! I didn’t like the previous model but the 2000 model is something special. It’s currently on the internet radio doo-dah since I can’t use my PC speakers at the moment. Nifty thing it be. Incidentally PoPoLoCrois is such a beautiful game. And speaking of PSP…
