I ain’t afraid of no Quake.
Wednesday, February 27th, 2008But Duke was hella scared of Half Life.
Enough of that! We just had an earthquake! 5.3 with the epicentre on the other side of the country (but it’s England so…). Was in TF2 at the time, really crazy seeing people sequentially feel the quake! Everyone here woke up and checked the news but it took a while for the BBC to catch up to it. Had to put up with Sky News. Urgh.
Yes yes, people in San Fransisco and the likes will be saying “what’s the point” and that. But hey it’s our biggest quake in 25 years! A man injured his leg for Christ’s sake!
Still waiting for them aftershocks.
My own pixel fixer
Tuesday, February 19th, 2008I made a really little pixel fixing app, I found the Java fix one (forgot the exact name) didn’t work for me so I built my own. It cycles through various bright colours (inc. black and white) at a constantly randomised frame rate between 30-60fps.
Warning – I’m not responsible for burning your eyes out if you want to look at this whilst it’s working. It’ll likely make your brain melt so best look away. Pressing any key will turn off. I’m being serious here! Don’t go watching it!
It worked on my monitor to fix a stuck red pixel. That’s another thing – it may or may not work on stuck pixels. It works by cycling through colours fast enough that it "fixes" a stuck pixel. Massaging the stuck pixel area might also help whilst this is running. It won’t fix dead pixels though, although it might help "hot pixels".
It took 30 minutes to fix mine.
A bit of an odd sky
Monday, February 18th, 2008Tormishire HWA
Friday, February 8th, 2008Just been playing around with a quite stable hardware accelerated build of Tormi. HWA will mean smoother frame rates and much better lighting, for example – explosions!
-The old fashioned software rendering explosion
-The "warmer" HWA version!
It’s not quite stable enough for proper testing yet though.
I’m also at the end of the graphic replacing "exercise"-
And here’s one of the title screens -

A mini harddrive!
Wednesday, February 6th, 2008I’m a sucker for things like this. Just bought myself a little 60gb 2.5" HDD for my games. My Steam folder is 32gb now so I needed a non HFS+ formatted drive to store Steam on (yea MacDrive isn’t so hot when it comes to running games off a HFS drive). The little buggers really quiet and USB powered too. My new travelling buddy I think! Just need some more USB ports now.
500gb 3.5" to left and the new baby under the iMac!
It’s not the best lighting but it’s a friggin beautiful shade of blue.
Trailer 4
Saturday, February 2nd, 2008Thought I’d make a more chillaxing vid. Probably should have shown off a few more items other than gloves and bombs, ho hummmmm.
