Well there’s a surprise

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Found this little thing tucked away on my server, the first New Satan Sam demo that I sent to a good friend (and prolific early Tormi tester, Owen). The files here and about 10mb. It seems to be a selection of levels from 3 months before the game was released and has some nasty old bugs in it. But what the hell!

And all this makes me really want to make a new Sam game again. One that’s been polished and fixed up to high heaven.

Sitey stuff

I really wasn’t happy with that old Tormi site so I’ve stripped it down to the necessary components only, also known as a 5 minute rush job!

Also a little boss comparison, the first look one from 2006 and the new one tweaked in 2009…

And with that… Back to work!

Pineapple theme

To continue with all the giving here’s a little piece from MrPineapple, his cameo’s theme in the game. S’all rather beautiful and actually 2 songs welded together in Audacity.

Tormishire trailer 5

Phew! Just finished up work on this bugger. Took an hour longer than planned and it’s not exactly 100% what I wanted but I guess it’ll have to do.

Did want to post this sooner but XP’s been playing up a little. Probably my own fault for not using any firewall or virus protection. Amazing how safe XP can be really, I’ve been ‘naked’ online for about 6 months with only 1 problem (thanks to 4oD of all things). So!

Christmas was great. Got some amazing DVD’s and really hooked on Father Ted and IT Crowd again, must be a bit of a Linehan fanboy. And then…

… Are seeping up all my connection speed (as well as a complete failure of my HDD which means redownloading all 70gb or so of my Steam games).

But 2009! Got some stuff planned for these upcoming months. First off is a new trailer that we’re working on, as well as some other little details that’ll come out soon after. We’ve also got a studio name that will be announced properly once we have the new site up and running as well as details on a publisher I’ve been chatting to.

And progress updates! Because of the immense workload this kind of project presents I’ve finally had to enlist the help of a few friends to design areas, write dialogue and all that kind of business. It’s great to have a new set of eyes cast over the world map and work out secret tunnels and the likes. Also replacing all the water rock graphics, the old ones were blue yet the water is more teal toned.

We’re 50% through Chapter 2 now with no more new map being added after chapter 3 it’s very nearly done. It’ll certainly be out before summer this year and on what platforms time will tell!

Also just whipped up a Tormishire facebook page if y’awl social butterfies.
