Photos

Thanks to some ace comments about my photos on a website I visit (they love the look of the area!) I decided to whip up a collection of the last 12 months of my proper photos, not the ones I took of dinner. All landscape pics taken around here, Saddleworth, on my EOS 350D.

Also of note… My secret Twitter account has a few followers. How’d that go n happen? You guys are wily.

But photography… I don’t have a set style yet. At the moment I rather like the contrasting, highly defined pics where everything is in focus, low ISO and all that. Whereas my earlier ones are much more contrasting and darker.

Uh oh

Bloody hell fire!

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Well that was a shock in the news!
But anyways. Sorry about the lack of updates recently, it’s been a hectic week or so. I went back out trying to get to that gaming tree I posted about a bit ago, but every route to it is overgrown. Ended up just taking loads of photos of the old quarry-turned-bike-jump-place. Dave Mirrah would probably like it. I’ll do a big photo upload thingy once I’m back at my computer.
And the games going well. Just added in the biggest single frame of the game (2000×3500) of a giant cliff type area.
Another reason has been the residual busy-ness from the girlfriend graduating university. She’s back home tomorrow which is just excellent. But I think maybe the less said about all this the better.

But I’m waffling as usual! The games going really well. I’m helping out to get our main bathroom sorted so we can install a steamroom (love em). Readdicted to Pokemon Pearl and Monster Hunter Freedom. GTA Chinatown Wars is ace, and yes I am late to the party. That’s it. Mission accomplished. Over and out.

A week in photos

Well since nobody bothered with my recent Tormi weather video I’m going back to talking about cereal and clouds and emotions.

Went to my girlfriends end of university gallery last week and saw an almost familiar face! Fantastic artwork though and unfortunately didn’t get to meet the artist and no business cards either so I couldn’t even commission a Sam 2 concept art picture. Whaaaat?!

In 2001 I used to walk my dog up around a village called Grotton, which is surrounded by fields and hills and Elves. There was a tree (the top right in that last photo) upon a hill that I always wanted to just chillax under, back then I wanted to take up Advance Wars on the original GBA. Since then I finished school, started and finished college and university and handhelds have been and gone. I wanted to go up there with Advance Wars Dual Strike on the DS Lite and a PSP with a few games. The plan being to entertain my long held fantasy. Except the path to it is overgrown to the point it is impassable. So no handheld hilltop shenanigans for me. But there was a helicopter at least.

And I’ve been helping in demolishing the main bathroom. Taken off the tiles, added a new radiator and bought the new sink, toilet, cupboard etc. Next up is the shower. It’s a mighty shower. A steam room/shower combo with iPod connectivity and FM radio, touch panel display, jet washers, massage attachments, monsoon showerhead… If you don’t hear from me for weeks at a time it’s because I decided to live in there.

Weather, like

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Bits of the weather engine in action. I can do some pretty funky stuff with this (like having a boss that causes thunderstorms, as you approach it the weather would gradually go from a light drizzle to an all out downpour with lightning).

Advert

A forum I’m on is having a competition to create a TV style advert for your game. So I’m doing just that, and this is the splash image for the end of it (minus slight animation). Oh and ignore the bottom icons for now, they’re just for added effect.

Looks like little ol’ me will have some competition.
