I want this
A DS Lite mod I came up with. and it’s not super cheesy, German styled neon lights with silly stuff all over. It’s a rather unobtrusive, faint graphic on the top lid. God knows how I would ever get this working – etching, paint, stickers? I’ll find a way.

Controlled buffing! With a small sandpaper nib on your dremmel tool, set on a low speed, you could buff in the design that you have traced on with pencil and then wipe the pencil away. It would be rather like frosted glass.

Or go to a sign shop with the design. I used to work for one. They have vinyl that’s translucent, designed to give an acid-etched effect to glass. It would work perfectly here. You can let them scan and clean up the design, then cut it out for you. Or, buy a scrap of the material and cut it out with an xacto knife yourself.
