Well , I wouldent know of the game unless i was watching G4 Tv. So yea this game looks awesome and im gona play it. Also Thanks for g4 Tv for shoing previews for it. I really enjoyed this game: stunning graphics, brilliant gameplay. It’s very challanging!
Btw, is the last patch 3.1 or 3.2? I ask ’cause the readme file of the patch here above says 3.1…
It still chashes now and then (win XP), and I can’t get past the 5th boss (the temple of water one), ’cause after killing it I can’t downblast myself to the exit >

I have to say this is the most fantastic 2d platformer I’ve ever played. If you WERE going to make it into a high end game, get rid of the bloody water level! (At least the end of it with the water rising) And you could improve the graphics and make it 3d without taking the 2d perspective off it. That would look magnificent.
I truly hope there will be more installments of this fabulous game. You could make a lot of money if you upscaled it a bit.

Excellent, excellent game. It is probably the best platformer I’ve ever played. At first I kept on dying, but honestly, Once I actially got into the game and played it for a while it got a whole lot easier and more fun. Mind you, there where a couple of challenges that just made me wanna strangle the game programmer, but that’s exactly what makes a good game. Heh, I finally beat the easy game. Echo World? It had me beating my face against the screen in frustration, and I couldn’t even get past the first screen. Well, ’nuff said.

The game is very nice, but for some weird reason, the game doesn’t display correctly. it’s like the game is off center when I play in full screen mode. And the windowed mode is a bit too small. I wish I could play the game with a larger window, at least 640×480.

I am sorry, but I’ve played the game and I found that it actually sucks. This isn’t anything personal because I don’t know you. What I do know, is that the game is unintuitive half the time (sometimes you die when you jump atop enemies, sometimes you damage them) and annoying the other half. Did you even consider playtesting the levels? Watching how players had difficulty?
The game’s control scheme fits far better with a long-winded level design with open 2D spaces like Sonic or Kyntt. It is not suited so well for closed-space, one-screen type of levels.
I would like to say that the game is hard, but most people wouldn’t register it as a complaint. The thing is, that it isn’t really hard. They are just frustrating. One level seemed impossible, until I accidentally figured out that I can pick up enemies mid-air. In another level, I practically forced to die in order to kill everyone. Most of the game is spent trying to trick your way trough the level rather then fighting your way trough.
Your abilities are also hard to work with. First of all, even the supposedly weakest enemies can soak up almost any damage. Second, why can’t we store weapons? Why can’t we put away Elliot and take it out when its more appropriate?
Also, what’s up with the menu? Why can’t we play the game windowed? Why do we have to wait several whole minutes every time we want to play the game?
I’m sorry, but your game is just unpolished. There are good ideas there, but it seems you didn’t really consider figuring out what to do with them.

Hey luv the game ^_^ sweet graphics an challenging gameplay! i dont get the jump on an enemy and die, then jump on the same enemy and not die thing… ??>_> got me confused… bet yeah luv it tho all the same. @Adam Lindsley no offence dude but apart from the jump on enemy an die half the time bug, thing, or what ever it is (that does piss me off from time to time >_<). you should be glad that another complete independent game is out there released on the net. Dont get me wrong, voice your opinion, BUT please dont come across so negative at so much creativity!

Satan Sam is awesome! Best platformer ever! Do you make the game, music and sprites all yourself? If you do, your a professional. You could make heaps of money if you sold your games. Ill never get tired of playing Satan Sam, and i have call of duty 4 and halo! I still prefer Satan Sam!

Hi, folks. My name is Frank (or MrSpock, because of my ears and my dream). I have started programming in 1985 and I work as a software developer now. I am basically both an old-school programmer (started with Pascal) and a new one (a child of the Internet era HTML, PHP) at the same time. I have basically lost a decade in the programming world. Losing the nineties is not as bad as it seems; I skipped the Windows era
My dream in life is to develop affordable space travel and space tourism. As a result I also love collecting space related photos made by both pro’s and amateurs. One of own personal problems is that I tend to become an expert of a subject very quickly, so I have to keep changing subject often in order to stay sufficiently ignorant
This is why I am interested in many topics and many languages. Fortunately space travel has so far proven to be so complex that it will keep my attention for a long time

Just have downlaoded Sam yeasterday and have the same problem. Installer do nothing or if i make some funny things with compatibility and/or run it under administrator it just create 0bytes .zip archive. That’s Windows 7 trouble i guess.

Excellent, excellent game. It is probably the best platformer I’ve ever played. At first I kept on dying, but honestly, Once I actially got into the game and played it for a while it got a whole lot easier and more fun. Mind you, there where a couple of challenges that just made me wanna strangle the game programmer, but that’s exactly what makes a good game. Heh, I finally beat the easy game. Echo World? It had me beating my face against the screen in frustration, and I couldn’t even get past the first screen.

I do like the manner in which you have framed this difficulty plus it does indeed present me personally a lot of fodder for thought.
