We did a little sale for the Lunar Pack, a collection of Wake, Lunnye as well as bonus OST’s for all games PLUS a chunk of Tormi’s OST. And it did really well. But we were limited by tech, or rather our skills with tech, so the sale had to end.
But yeah man! Indievania came along and did a well good job of being great! They’ve given us a platform to bring back the Lunar Pack in Pay What You Want form, permanently!
So http://bossbaddie.co.uk it is!
or http://bossbaddie.co.uk/lunarpack for a better link.
We’ve also slightly updated Lunnye for this. Ever so slightly.
I like the one on the right. Shame I handed all these into uni and I forgot to pick them back up and were eventually lost.
FIRST BIT: Follow me on twitter. I’m sneakybison. Chances are I’ll follow you too.
So far I’ve heard back from 2 out of the 3 universities I’ve applied for, even got an interview with one on Wednesday! This is all part of this real life thing that’s taking over game development. Couldn’t have happened at a worse time too – I’ve written a full design doc for Wake 2, Lunnye 2 was trundling along quite well and I really really want to make a game that completely abuses the weather system in the Tormi engine.
I also really want to finish Tormishire. When we stopped work on it last year I was halfway through adding a whole new section between the 2nd and 3rd boss. See we had what we called Level 3. *It is a vertical level, you know the sort, where one slip up sends you back half an hour. It is topped off with a difficult platform bit where you had to float above spikes with precisely timed jumps. Well! Before that I wanted to bulk it out and add a mine system. This was inspired by the (relatively new) Titan cave found nearby to where I live and what I imagined the Speedwell Caverns to look like, from a romantic POV. The 2nd boss doesn’t die, just gets really annoyed and drags the player to a randomised location in these mines. The player then has to find a bunch of keys to open doors to break out to the bit above I will now mark with a *. I thought this music in this area was lovely, muffled tribal beats with occasionally fading in warm synth-y bits, emphasising the lonely feel of the ancient darkened ruins. Once you break to the upper levels the music goes back to the standard fare.
I’ve had a few emails about this over the course of the evening so I should probably say something and just link emails to it…
Tormishire isn’t dead. You can’t just end a 4 year old project. Both me and Pineapple have realised we’re not going to make much money off it and it was taking too long. So we’re both heading different ways now. Though we are staying together for the kids. Did I ever post a photo of our son?

Strapping.
Pineapples going into proper music, the guy is a musical genius after all. Until he has a site you can always follow him on Youchewb.
I’m hopefully going back to uni. Just finished off my 11-freakin-page application form.
And this is where Tormishire will happen. Once it becomes a little hobby again it’ll be cranked out of its coffin and hopefully (global disaster permitting) it will be released. We really have done too much to just end it here. So have a picture – the first ever Tormi pic taken on 22th December 2006.

Well there’s a minimum of £1 to cover various fees but there you have it. The top payees will be listed anonymously once we get some sales in (and my main computer is done with its marathon scan disk session).
The pack also comes with 6 extra Tormishire songs, 3 by me (cover your ears!) and 3 by MrPineapple. It’s a coalition.
Nothing to report on Lunnye 2 for now. I’ve spent the past few days making that above website!
I found some scans of my sketchbook (2006-7), some you might have seen before. I think the sketchbook itself was binned, the uni tutors gave us a few weeks notice before they had to clear us out, except I left all my work there! So it’s either binned or in the feverish madhands of an admirer. Have at theeeee;
